I never planned to apply. Not really.

I didn’t go to art school. I didn’t apprentice under anyone. I never learned to stretch a canvas or balance a budget. I failed high school art. Once. Maybe twice.

But I did begin to tell the truth—in images and in fragments. I called the project The Vanishing Point because it felt like the only place I could begin.
